Game - Killer Bunnies

A gloriously stupid card game, where you collect carrots and eliminate opposing bunnies, by a variety of means. Unlike a certain gangster card game, this is quick and easy. A massive element of chance, means the game is wide open until the very end.

Players: 2-7 or even more?
Time: 1 hour.

Game - Axis and Allies

The Anniversary addition brings Italy into the game, to make for a 6-player version of the old classic. With game-play simmilar to Risk and even more simmilar to anyone who remembers 'Shogun', we won't have to waste too much time reading the rules with this classic.
Sides / Players: 2 /up to 6
Time: 3 hours?

Game - Caveman: Can Your Tribe Survive?

Technically, I bought this for Sarah for Christmas - but it turns out that this is a great game! For a start it comes with plastic dinosaurs! The aim of the game is to gather resources, ambush opposing tribe members and make babies!

Players: 2-6
Time: 45 minutes to 1 and a half hours
A Review of the game

Game - Joan of Arc

All the fun of the 100 Years War in a box. This is a great game which encourages both aggression and treachery. The limited number of combat cards means you have to balance your need to win that decisive battle with the need to defend your remote provinces for the rest of the turn.

Players: three to six (but not very good with three).

Time: Two and a half to three and a half hours (shortest with fourplayers).

Game - Hidden Conflict

A tile-based skirmish game set in a horror-fantasy near future. Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves, Demons, Ghouls and Humans are the playable factions. Each faction starts with small group, then moves through the mean streets, confronting the opposing factions, recruiting creatures and finding equipment.

Players - 2 to 6

Time - 30 to 50 minutes

Game - Republic of Rome

Rather complicated to play, but promises to be a great game if we ever get the hang of it. Each player walks a tight-rope of pushing their faction forward and putting the Republic first. Patience is essential, or the game descends into bloody assassination and popular riots. At least one player must have read the rule-book in advance of the Games Day, if we are to play this one.

Players - 4-6
Length - 4 hours (although can finish alot sooner if the Republic collapses)

Games Geek Review

Game: History of the World

An old favourite. A simple combat system and a large degree of chance in empire selection makes this game great fun. I prefer a four player game, which makes for a fast and unpredicatable game (with many epoch's major empires absent).
Explanation of how the game works

Number of Players: 3-6 (best with 4 or 5)
Time: 2 and a half hours for 4 players, 3 hours for 5 and 3 and a half for 6 players.

Game - Struggle of Empires

Based on the battle for European and global supremacy in the 18th Century, this game is very straight-forward to play - the rule book is just 5 pages. The game is most enjoyable with 5, 6 or 7 players, as the alliance aspect of the game is good fun - each turn players are picked to be part of one of two alliances (6 turns in the game) - just like football as a kid, with the fat wheezy kid picked last!

Number of Players: 4-7 (the more the better)
Time: 3 Hours
